Experience with a case of congenital choanal atresia in a newborn infant is reported with literatural review. This female infant was noted to have respiratory distress and cyanosis at birth. Distress was immediately alleviated by crying. A diagnosis of choanal atresia was confirmed by contrast (Dianosil) x-ray study. She was discharged to home with well adapted by mouth breath.
