The authors experienced a case of insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus with hypothyroidism. We recommend that all patients with insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus be screened for thyroid mi- crosomal antibody and that those patients found to have thyroid microsomal antibody be followed annually for determination of free T4 and TSH values.
