Abstract
A study of serum calcium, phosphorus levels in mother and umbilical cord was carried on 39 mother/baby pairs who were admitted to DAE HAN Hospital from Nov.1989 through Feb.1990. The results abstained were as follows: 1) The mean serum calcium levels of maternal and cord blood were 8.92¡¾10.59mg% and 9. 88¡¾10.74mg% repectively. The mean serum calcium of cord blood was statiscally higher than that of maternal blood(p< 0.01). 2) The mean serum inoganic phosphorus levels of maternal and cord blood were 3.09¡¾10. 80mg% and 4.04¡¾0.86mg% respectively. The mean serum inorganic phosphorus level of cord blood was statistically higher than that of maternal blood(p<0.01). 3) The mean serum calcium levels of cord blood in non-anemic mother, male, birth weight (3000~3500g), mother age(25~29yr), primipara, vaginal delivery were higher than those of comparative conditions. 4) The mean serum inorganic phosphorus levels of cord blood in anemic mother, male, birth weight(2500~3000g), mother age(30~34yr), multipara, c/sec delivery were higher than those of comparative conditions.
