Two Cases of Alport Syndrome Developed in Sister
Abstract
The moderate sensory neural hearing loss and decreased visual acuity were accompanied in a 15 year old girl with chronic renal failure, and so we suspected Alport syndrome. In Family study, her younger sister of 12 years old had shown persistent hematuria from 2 years ago and mild hearing loss. HTe ultrasound-guided percutaneous renal biopsy was performed in younger sister and characteristic electron microscopic findings of Alport syndrome was shown. We experienced 2 cases of Alport syndrome developed in sister and report with a brief review of related literatures.
