- Abstract
- A case of lead nephropathy is presented and recent literatures are reviewed. A 11 year old boy had been admitted to National Medical Center, with a chief complaint of gross hematuria during follow up of lead poisoning. He had a history of ingestion of herb pills medication for 6 months with his twin sibling who had been diagnosed as lead encephalopathy.
Patient's kidney biopsy findings are as followings: Tublues reveal focally severe necrosis or loss, interstitium exhibits severe recent hemorrhage with fibrin deposit, focal heavy collection of polymorphonuclear neutrophils and epithelial cells reveal cytoplasmic degeneration and giant cell transformation.
