- Abstract
- We studied the correlation of 85 paired arterial, transcutaneous P02 and 50 paired arterial, trans-
cutaneous PCO2, which were obtained from 9 sick preterm infants within first week of their life, who
were bom at the Wonkwang University Hospital from March. 1, 1988 to Feb. 28, 1989. And we also
analysed the affect of the pH, body temperature, hematocrit and birth weight to the relation of PaO2
to TCPO2 and TcPCO2 to PaCO2.
The results were as follows:
1) Linear regression analysis of arterial PO2 showed significant correlation (PaO2=0.80 TcPO2+37.
51, r=0.72).
2) Linear regression analysis of arterial PCO2 vs transcutaneous PCO2 showed highly correlation
(TCPO2=1.07 PaCO2+8.35, r=0.95).
3) The PH, body temperature, hematocrit and birth weight did not affect the relation of PaO2 and
TCCO2 and TcPCO2 to PaCO2.
