- Clinical Investigation of Chlamydia Pneumonia in Infants.

- Abstract
- We performed chlamydia antigen test by enzyme immunoassay in 322 infants who were admitted
because of pneumonia. Clinical investigation and statistical analysis were done between chlamydia
antigen positive group and negative group.
The results obtain were as follows
1) Chlamydia antigen positive were resulted in 42 cases (13.04%) among 322 cases.
2) The mean age of Chlamydia positive and negative group were 14.2±6.2 weeks and 11.5±5.
7weeks respectively.
3) Afebrile cases were 82.3% in positive group and 33.3% in negative group, there were significant
difference between two group statistically (p<0.05)
4) Major radiologic findings were interstitial pneumonic infiltration and hyperaeration in both
group, and there was no significant differences.
5) There were significant difference between two group in eosinophil counts (p<0.01)
6) There was significant increase in IgG (p<0.05), IgA (p<0.05) and IgM (p<0.01) of chlamydia
positive group compared with chlamydia negative group.
