- Abstract
- Febrile ulceronecrotic pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta is a severe form of pityriasis
lichenoides et varioliformis acuta characterized by the sudden polymorphous eruptions composed of
diffuse coalescent macule, papule, vesicle, hemorrhagic vesicle and reddish brown crust on the neck,
trunk, axilla, both extremities, and systemic symptoms such as fever and malaise.
We have experienced a case of febrile ulceronecrotic pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta
which occurred 4 year and 7 month-old girl. She had polymorphous eruptions with m(ild itching
sensation. Diagnosis of pityriasis lichenoides et varioliformis acuta was established by clinical
features and histopathologic findings. We treated with erythromycin syrup, prednisolone and topical
steroid with improvement. A brief review of the literature was made.
