- Abstract
- Idiopathic hypercalciuria is defined as increased urinary excretion of calcium in normocalcemia
without primary cause. It is associated with urinary symptoms, such as hematuria but it occurs
without any symptoms too. If left untreated, it may cause kidney stone, dimineralization of bone, or
other problem. The incidence of idiopathic hypercalciuria was 3.9% in asymptomatic group compared
to 5% in unselected populations in this study. Oral Ca londing test resulted in 7 absorptive type, 2
renal type and 9 normal results.
Two cases of renal stone were found and treated. This study emphasize on that idiopathic
hypercalciuria should be screened in early childhood to prevent complications.
