- Abstract
- Rickettsial infection has not been identified in Korea since about 20-30 years before in Korea.
However, there has been an increasing incidence of Tsutsugamushi disease in recent years.
Tsutsugamushi disease is a variety of rickettsial infection to human causing abrupt onset of fever,
headadie, vomiting, myalgia, and abdominal pain. In severe case, causing D.I.C., pulmonary edema,
hypoalbuminemia and generalized edema.
We reported a case of Tsutsugamushi disease in child associated with severe clinical manifestations
and a brief review of the literature was made.
