- Abstract
- Cardiac myxomas are rare in children. Because of their rarity and protean clinical manifestations,
diagnosis is difficult but cardiac myxomas recently have generated a great deal of interest because
they represent a potentially curable form of serious heart disease which can be diagnosed easily and
accurately by echocardiography.
We presented a case of left atrial myxoma in a 13-year old girl. The diagnosis was made by
echocardiography and cardiac angiography and confirmed by surgical excision and histological
examination as a typical myxoma of heart.
A review of literature was made briefly.
