- Abstract
- An infant is descirbed who has multiple joint dislocations, unusual facies, and bony abnormalities,
which constitute a syndrome first reported by Larsen. This report expands Larsen syndrome with
additional findings such as apparent diminshed rigidity of cartilage in infancy, short nails,
unusual juxtacalcaneal “accessory” bone, and mental retardation. The joint lesions and mental
retardation require prolonged observation and treatment is limited mainly symptomatic therapy
and achievement of completely normal motor function is unlikely.
