Abstract
Total 2140 Seoul children, aged from 2 weeks to 6 years 4 months were evaluated with Denver Developmental Screening Test and the results were compared with those of Denver and Tokyo children. Seoul children were found to be advanced in all 4 sectors of DDST, e.g. personal, social, fine motor, adaptvie, language and gross motor than Denver or Tokyo counterparts. Korean youngsters fast development can be attributed to parents* close attention to their develop- ment and early exposure to educational material but genetic difference cannot be denied for their possible role in developmental process. Since the job distribution of samples’ fathers are not significanitly different from that of Seoul population, the result of this research can be used for standardized Korean DDST. Korean DD§T is presented.
