- Abstract
- Myxoma of the heart is a very uncommon disease constituting nearly 50% of all primary cardiac
tumors. The majority of them are detected in the adult life over 30 years of age, but very rarely they
can be seen in the childhood. We have recently experienced a case of left atrial myxoma in a
12-year-old boy.
The diagnosis was made by echocardiography and cardiac angiography. And the histological
examination confirmed as the typical myxoma of the heart.
