All patients were less than 24 months of age when diagnosed, and the yongest was a 5 days of age, all of whom were female. The common presenting- symptoms in this cases were jaundice, abdominal distention, and vomiting. An abdominal mass was palpable in all and abdominal pain was not complaint in these patients. Laboratory findings were nonspecific indicating obstructive jaundice with a variable degree of hepatocellular dysfunctions. Radiographic investigations (plain abdomen, IVP, ultrasound echogram, and 99mTc-HIDA scan) were used in all instances to confirm the diagnosis. All patients underwent a Roux-en-Y choledochocystojejunostomy following removal of the:cyst, and confirmed the anomaly as having a Alonso-Lej type A.
