- Abstract
- Takayasu’s arteritis is an arteritis of undetermined etiology which affects the aorta, the proximal portions of
its major branches and pulmonary arteries. This 6 4/12-year-old female patient was developed hypertension and convulsion during" admission. At first we suspect rheumatic heart disease because of carditis, arthralgia,
elevation of ESR, and presence of CRP and ASLO. But hypertension and congestive heart failure were continued inspite of antihypertensive drugs, so we checked blood pressure of 4 extremities and found that blood pressure in the legs exceed that in the arms. Therefore we preformed aortography and confirmed Takayasu` arteritis affecting aortic arch, carotid artery, left subclavian artery, descending artery, and left renal artery.
