- Abstract
- An extremely rare syndrome originally described by Hutchinson in 1886 and Gilford in 1904 is associated with a characteristic aged appearance very early in life. Although numerous clinical. metabolic and pathologic studies had been carried out and several theories advanced , the cause and pathogenesis of progeria remain obscure.
The patient of this syndrome develope widespread atherosclerosis and often die of myocardial infaction in their pre-or early teens, the average age being 13.4. Authors therby report one such case of Hutchinson Gilford progeria syndrome. A brief review of literature is included
