- Abstract
- The authors experienced a case of massive spontaneous intracranial hemorrhage in anotherwise
healthy 21-day-old breast fed male infant. There were no evidences of external trauma.
Coagulation studies showed marked prolongation of prothrombin time and partial thromboplastin time.
They were significantly corrected after vitamin K administration without clinical improvsment.
We concluded that vitamin K deficiency was accounted for the pathogenesis of fatal intracranial hemorrhage in this patient.
