Abstract
The level of the calcium and the creatinine were measured in 2nd voided morning urine and 24hr urine in 32 patients of the pediatric ward SNUH. They were males aging from 2 months to 24 months. The Ca/Cr concentration ratio was calculated in 2nd voided morning urine and 24hr urine, and 24hr urine Ca excretion per body weight were also calculated. The results were as follows; 1)Between the Ca/Cr concentration ratio of the 2nd voided morning urine and of the 24hr urine Correlation coeffecient was 0.73. There were marked differences between the values of the two. 2)Between 2nd voided morning urine Ca/Cr ratio and 24hr urine Ca excretion (mg/kg/d) there was such a elationship that correlation coeffecient was 0.61 and regression curve was y=6.96x+0.78±1.41 (standard error). 3)24hr urine Ca excretion was 0.98±0.70 (SD) mg/kg/D, 24hr urine Ca/Cr ratio was 0.145±0.122 (SD), and 2nd voided morning urine Ca/Cr ratio was 0.154±0.140 (SD) in 17 patients who were admitted due to acute illness. 4)24hr Ca excretion was 3.02±1.75 (SD) mg/kg/D, 24hr urine Ca/Cr ratio was 0.308土 0.194 (SD), and 2nd voided morning urine Ca/Cr ratio was 0.258±0.129 (SD) in 10 patients to whom furosemide was given due to CHD & CHF.
