- Abstract
- Acute megakaryoblastic leukemia in a very rare type of leukemia characterized by megakaryoblatic proliferation and organ infiltration without proliferation of other marrow elements. The authors experienced a case of acute megakaryoblastic leukemia in a 3 9/12 year-old female patient on admission. Acute leukemia was suspected because blast cells were found in peripheral blood smear, and there was hepatosplenomegaly. Bone marrow smear revealed megakaryocytic hyperplasia with atypical megakaryocytes and PAS positive granules. Bone marrow biopy revealed maked increase in reticulin fiber. We reviewed the literatures briefly.
