Comparative Study on Quantitation of Left to Right Shunts in Ventricular Septal Defect Using Oximetry and Radionuclide Method.

Abstract
In 80 children with isolated ventricular septal defect, quantitation of left to right shunts was performed using oximetry and rdionuclide angiocardiography(RNA). The radionuclide angiocardiograms were acquired and analized by a gamma camera interfaced to a digital computer system. Pulmonary to systemic f!ow(Qp/Qs) ratios were calculated by analysis of pulmonary time-activity histograms using a gamma variate model. A comparison of the values for Qp/Qs ratio obtained by oximetry and RNA in all of the 80 patients revealed a correlation coefficent of O.69(P
