A Case of Aplastic Anemia Following Hepattitis.

Abstract

We experienced a case of aplastic anemia following hepatitis in a 8 year and 5 month old boy. The boy who has past history of hepatitis 10 weeks prior to this visit was admitted because of pale face with petechia on the skin of abdomen and left arm for a month. CBC and bone marrow aspiration on admission showed pancytopenia and marked hypocellularity of all hematopoietic elements. Treatment with prednisone and oxymetholone showed gradual improvement in CBC and bone marrow aspirate findings and patient appears to be completely normal 5 months later. A brief review of related literature was also presented.
