- Abstract
- Authora experienced two cases of complete Atrioventricular block with Adams-Stokes attack in a 14 year old boy and a 5 year old girl who were admitted to the Pediatric Department of Dong-San hospital, Keimyung University.
Both cases had typical syncopal attack as a first time and complete Atrioventricular block on electrocardiogram. There was.no specific past history and no associated congenital heart defect in both cases. Case one was treated with Intravenous isoproterenol and case two with atropine and intravenous isoproterenol and recovered completely. They were discharged in good condition and have been followed up in Out Patient Department without recurrence. In the abscence of associated congenital heart defect, congenital heart block is generally thought to have a good prognosis and the reports of Adams-Stokes attack in these patients are rare. Brief review of literature was made.
