Abstract
There have been some suggestion that inactive renin may be a kind of precursor renin. There have not yet been however, founded direct evidence for that suggestion. To understand more about the physiological role of the plasma inactive renin, experiments have been done. The results obtained as follows. 1)In the newborn infants plasma renin activity showed highest level up to the age range of 25 years. 2)Trypsin-activatable plasma inactive renin was very high in newborn infant, thereafter the plasma inactive renin activity did not change in the fuuction of aging. 3)The percent of inactive plasma renin over total plasma renin in the children seemed increasing by aging, and the values were different from the adult. These data suggest that the plasma inactive renin may be controlled by different mechanism from the renin system.
