- Abstract
- Aplastic Anemia following Hepatitis is an uncommon disease and it has a poor prognosis. Recently the authors experienced two cases of aplastic anemia following hepatitis in a 13 year old girl and a 14 year old boy.
The thirteen year old girl was admitted following 2 months of Jaundice and 1 day df epistaxis. . At admission, pancytopenia developed and her clinical course did not improve in spite of multiple transfusions and therapy with corticosteroid. The fourteen year old boy was admitted following 2 weeks of general weakness & ecchymosis. During Admission, Pancytopenia developed and there was marked hypocellularity of all elements on bone marrow examination. His clinical course did not' improve in spite of multiple transfusions and therapy with corticosteroid.
Related literature was also briefly reviewed.
