- Statistical Study on Pediatric Emergency Room Patients.

- Abstract
- The authors surveyed 17,511 pediatric patients among total 67,290 ones who visited the emergency rodm of Chonnam National University Hospital during the 5 year period from Jan. 1, 1978 to Dec. 31, 1982. 1)70% of total pediatric patients consisted of injury and poisoning, infectious diseases and diseases of the respiratory system.
2)About one-fifth of total pediatric patients was true emergency which needed immediate surgical care. 3) About one fourth of total pediatric patients had diarrheal disorder and upper respiratory illness which needed less urgent care.
