- The Frequency of HBsAg and HBsAb Positive in Hospitalized Children and Preschool Children in Kindegarten From Busan Area.

- Abstract
- The authors evaluated HBsAg and Anti-HBs on 434 cases who were admitted to pediatric ward of St. Benedict Hospital and HBsAg on 656 cases of 6 kindegartens in Busan area from January to April in 1983.
The results were as follows. 1)Among 434 cases of hospitalized children (male; 256, female; 178), 24(5.53%) were HBsAg positive and 13(2.98%) were HBsAb positive. 2)Among 656 case s of 6 kindegartens(male; 340, female; 316), 36(5.50%) were HBsAg positive. 3) In the cases of HBsAg positive of hospitalized, 15(5.86%) were male and 9(5.05%) were female. In the HBsAg positive of kindegartens, 23(6.76%) were male and 13(4.11%) were female.
By sex distribution, the occurrence of HBsAg positive was slightly higher in male than in female. 4) By age distribution of hospitalized children, HBsAg positive rates under 1 yr age group was 2.08%(3 cases), for 1~4 yr group was 4.85%(8 cases), for 5~8 yrgroup was 10.53%(6 cases), for 9~12 yr group was 10.71%(6 cases), and for over 13 yr group was 8.33%(1 case).
