- Abstract
- Congenital hypothyroidism can be caused by ectopic thyroid which classified as aberrant
type and accesory type.
The authors eyperienced a case, having congenital hypothyroidism caused by ectopic thyroid
(lingual thyroid) which confirmed by abnormal physical findings, biochemical studies, radio-
logical studies, radioisotope uptake test and thyroid scintigram, in 1 year and 7 months old
age female patients with chief problems of growth retardation.
A brief review of literature was made on this subject.
