- Abstract
- The leukocyte alkaline phosphatase activity in 43 children with leukocytosis who were
admi竹ed to Busan National University and Busan Maryknoll Hospital from Oct. in 1980, to Mar. in 1981, was investigated histochemically with the Tomonaga’s naphtol AX-MX pho-sphate fast blue RR method.
The results were summerized as follow.
1) The LAP activity in healthy children shows no variation in spite of difference in sex, age and neutrophil count.
2) The LAP activity scores of children with leukocytosis was higher than that of healthy children. In the children with leukocytosis, the higher the neutrophil count was the higher the LAP activity scores.
3) The LAP activity scores was higher in children with nonbacterial leukocytosis, and it was higher in the children with pneumonia and meningitisas compared with the children with tuberculosis.
4) Increased LAP activity in children with leukocytosis was returned to that of healthy children with the decreament of leukocyte counts to 5,000—10,000/mm3
