- Abstract
- Asthma is a disease of multicausal etiology. But psychologic factors were assumed one of
the important factors. We present a case of bronchial asthma aggravated to emotional upset
and subsided by chlorpromazine administration.
11 years old female patient was admitted 4 times due to asthmatic attack which was.
developed after psychologic upset On laboratory studies, IgE, total eosinophile count and
pulmonary function tests were within normal range except bronchial challange test by
methacholine. We administrated the only thorazine intramuscularly when attack was developed,
because of the symptoms were improved by thorazine oral administration. Symptoms were
subsided and improvement on physical examinations and pulmonary function tests were noted-
So it is certain that symptoms were subsided by thorazine administration.
