Abstract
We experienced a identical female twin with bilateral double kidneys, double ureters and ureterocele. Four month old baby was admitted due to high fever and irritability for 1 day. Her twin sister was also admitted two month later with the same problems. There were no abnormal findings on physical examination. Serial urinalysis revealed numerous white blood per high power field on microscopically and urine culture revealed E-Coli more than 100,000/ml. Both babies were undertaken I VP under the impression of urinary tract infec-tion. IVP showed the presence of bilateral double kidneys with double ureters and ureter-ocele with marked hydronephrosis of Rt. upper kidney and evidence of pyelectasis, calyec-tasis, and lack of urinary drainage. Both babies were operated and Rt. partial ureteronephrectomies and Rt. ureterocelecto-mies were done successfuly. We belive these are the first presentation of complete type of double kidneys and double ureters among identical twins in Korea.
