- Abstract
- The rapid method of Ferro & Ham for the determination of serum cholesterol based on Lieberman Burchard Reaction, has been modified slightly and applied to the determination of C.S.F. cholesterol in the patients of Jap. B Encephalitis and Tuberculous meningitis. a. Cerebrospinal fluid of normal children showed no evidence of cholesterol by this method. b. In tuberculous meningitis, a slightly increased cholesterol level was observed.
c. In encephalitis, C.S.F. cholesterol level increased markedly at the acute stage and declined at the recovery stage.
