- Ketogenic Diet for Patients with Resistant Seizures

- Abstract
- Ketogenic diet is no longer widely used, because it has various difficulties. But, it may be helpful for children who have frequent resistant seizures which are not controlled by one or more of the anticonvulsant drugs. In such instances the ketogenic diet may often be used in conjunction with them. Still, one who have interest to manage childhood seizures, should not forget its possibilities when drugs fail. We presented methods of calculation, physician’s guide for planning, ketogenic diet menu of examples for children from 2 to 15 years old in korea. Brief review and discussion were made mainly on effect and mechanism of ketogenic diet.
