- Cardiac Arrhythmias in Infants and Children

- Abstract
- 1.Cardiac arrhythmias which was observed during 3 years and 4 months from March 1973 to August 1975 among 2, 676 patients who visited the Department of Pediatrics and whose ECG were taken because of heart disease or suspicious heart disease were analysed. Simple sinua arrhythmias and bundle branch blocks were excluded from this study. 2. 186 cases of arrhythmis were seen among the 2,676 cases (7%) 3. The types of arrhythmias in the order of frequency are: A-V block, ectopic beat, atrial" fibrillation, paroxysmal tachycardia, A-V dissociation, WPV syndrome, chronic atrial tach-ycardia. 4.The main underlying causes of the sereous cardiac arrhythmias were congenital heart, disease, and after open heart surgery, rheumatic heart disease, and diphtheritic toxic myoc
arditis.
