- Abstract
- A case of bilateral adult type polycystic kidneys with nephrotic syndrome in a 12-year-old boy is presented.
He had pain, tenderness and bilateral palpable masses in the flanks, generalized edema and marked albuminuria on admission. The diagnosis of polycystic kidneys was based on the typical urographic findings. The laboratory findings of nephrotic syndrome were not remarkably improved by steroid therapy during the hospital course. No associated anomalies in other organs were demonstrated.
