- Statistical Studies on Acute Drug Intoxication in Children

- Abstract
- 1.The frequency of poisonings in male was higher than in female and the highest incidence was observed in the 1 to 4 year age group. 2.There was no significant seasonal difference in frequency of poisoning, but it seemed to
be more prevalent in summer than winter. 3.The causative substances were found to be 29 kinds. Of these, insectcides(parathion prerepations) were the most common, rodentcides, barbiturates were the next common.
4.The poisonings were caused by mainly accident, abd it is significant finding that the poisonigs of suicidal purpose were all 10〜 15 year age group which was puberty. 5.The mortality rate was 8. 3%. Of these, 2 cases by perathion, 2 cases by insectcide and 1 case by cianide.
