Abstract
Birth weight-gestational age tables have been calculated for 844 Korean new born infants between 28 and 42 weeks of gestational age, which have been regarded as fetal weight-gestational age tables. Mean, standard deviation and the 10 th, 25 th, 50th, 75 th and 90 th percentiles were established. These data revealed lower than those from Japanese and Caucasian fetus after 33 weeks of gestational age, but higher before 33 weeks. As the result of observing the postnatal growth of 73 low birth weight infants weighed from 1, 500 to 2, 500 gm. mean and standard deviation were obtained and graphed by 4 groups which were devided by each 250 gm of birth weight. These showed similar as those of Caucasian in the time of regaining birth weight and in the rate of maximum weight loss, but better results than other Korean authors’ data were obtained.
