- Abstract
- A male newborn infant, born from normal vaginal delivery without dystocia, had rapid shallow respiration, moderate degree of cyanosis and dyspnea soon after birth. Clinical symptoms did not improve in spite of highly humidified oxygenated air inhalation with incubator care. Roentgenologic study on second day after birth showed moderately elevated right side diaphragm, hazy density in right lung field and right clavicular fracture. Fluoroscopic examination of the chest revealed characteristic paradoxical movement (see-saw movement) of diaphragm.
He was disharged on the 14 th day after birth without improvement.
