- Clinical Observation of Aseptic Meningitis

- Abstract
- 82 cases of aseptic meningitis were clinically observed for 5 years from 1959 to 1963. Classification, of types of meningitis showed that there were 32 cases of encephalitic type (39%), 12 cases of paralytic type (14.6%), 8 cases of mumps type(9.8%) and another 30 cases (14.6%). The most frequent age group was early childhood (40 cases, 47.5%), and more frequently in ma lei (54 cases,66%),and all cases in infancy were male(7 cases, 7.3%).
Most cases developed during autumn and spring (64 cases, 78%), and the most : frequent month was September.
The symptoms arranged in frequency showed /ever, vomiting, convulsion, paralysis and unconsiciousness.
The findings of spinal fluid showed that cells were increased in all elevated. fatal cases were of the encephaitic type, only one case being of paralytic type.
