The Examination of Muscle Tonus in Newborn Infants

Abstract

Neurological examinations were done in 143 normal full-term newborn infants, born at Seoul National Univ. Hospital, according to their type of delivery. The authors have observed the posture and the passive muscle tone of the infants including heel to ear manoeuvre, popliteal angle, dorsiflexion angle of foot, and scarf sign for one week of postnatal period, and compared the data between the groups.
