- Statistical Studies on Pediatric Emergency Room Patients

- Abstract
- The Authors reviewed 3, 016 pediatric patients in the emergency room in this University Hospital during 5 year period from Jan. 1970 to Sept. 1974. The results of this observation were obtained as followed: 1) Among the patients of visiting the emergency room, the patients under the 15 years of age was occupied with the percentage of 28. 2. 2)The age distribution showed that 80% was under the 6 years of age and 25. 4% was in. the 1~3 years.
The highest age rate was also in the 1~3 years. 3)The most frequent primary diagnosis were in decreasing order: Respiratory tract disease (25.7%), Gastrointestinal disease (20.4%), Neurologic condition (17.4%), Neonatal disease
(14.1%), Accident (12.9%). 4)The most popular time of visiting the emergency room was bstween 4 to 12 pm., at
which time about 50% of patients were seen.
