- Abstract
- There have been a few cases of Wilson’s disease reported in Korea. This paper presents the
hepatic form of Wilson,s disease and reviews pertinent literatures.
Hepatic involvement remains the most likely manner for presentation in the pediatric age group,
and therefore the diagnosis needs serious consideration in any child with symptoms and signs of
liver disease, acute or chronic.
This case, 8-year-old school child complained of jaundice and abdominal distention. Laboratory
data revealed low serum ceruloplasmin level, high copper content in liver, and the autopsy findings
compatible with Laennec’s cirrhosis.
