Abstract
Twenty-five Korean children with allergic symptoms were intradermally skin tested with house dust, buckwheat husks and chaffs. The buckwheat husks and chaffs are commonly used for stuff- ing of pillows in Korea. The results are positive to house dust in 48%, buckwheat husks in 20% and chaffs in 12% of the patients. Seven of the patients were skin tested with other indoor allergens and foods by prick
method
. Positive resuhs were noted to soy bean, shrimp, house dust, rice, cow’s milk, egg white and monilia. This study indicates importance of the house dust, buckwheat husks and the chaffs as indoor allergen in Korean children. It also suggests importance of soy bean, shrimp, rice, cow’s milk and egg white in food allergy of Korean children.
