- Clinical Observation of Infectious Hepatitis

- Abstract
- The Authors observed 168 cases of the diagnosis and treatment of hepatitis was taken by the
Dept, of Ped. in this University Hospital during 5 period between Sept. 1968 and Aug. 1973.
The results of this observation are as follows:
1) It was found that there is a trend for children to be sick during Autumn and Winter, and
that the appearance of infectious hepatitis were 0.39% in 1969, 0.22% in 1970, 0.19% in 1972,
and 0.10% in 1973. 2) It was observated that the ratio between male and female was three vs two.
The children o£ three and five of age were at the highest rate.
3) In terms of clinical symptoms, it was observed that there were 63.2% of abdominal pain
and abd. distention, 53.6% of jaundice, 46.5% o£ fever and anorexia in order. In 91.3% of cases,
hepatomegaly was found and most of them complaind tenderness.
4) In biochemical view point, increase of GOT, GPT. in the most case. It was observed that
73.9% of cases become normal limits within one months, but 1 case remain abnormal until 8months.
5) The prognosis was fine without complication and sequellae, and two cases was death due to hepatic coma.
