- Abstract
- A study on the attitude of the member of the Korean Pediatric Association toward the child
health problem of the community was conducted during the period from Oct. 1973 to Mar. 1974.
For the study, questionnaire forms were sent to alll members of the Korean Pediatric Association
and the total of 100 persons responded to the questionnaire and the materials have been
analysed.
The following results were obtained.
1) The great majority of the respondents (96.9%) were interested in the community child
health. But the degree of participations was very low, and only 32. Z% of respondents participated
in the medical services besides the clinic and 27.0% in the community working besides the
medical care.
2) The members wished the K.P.A. to participate actively in the community child health.
3) All of them knew the necessity of health education for children and parents, but 71.4% of
respondents didn’t perform it. The majority of the respondents (95.9%) thought that the need
of community child health must be stressed in the medical education.
4) Their knowledge and interests in various vital statistics were very good but they didn’t
place confidence in the national data.
