- Abstract
- Live attenuated measles virus (Lirugen) was vaccinated in 14 susceptible children. The mean maximum rectal temperature was 100.2 °F, and anorexia, cough, ri nor rhea were observed in some vaccinated children, but the rashes were not developed in all cases. Total WBC count was mildly decreased 1 week after vaccination which were within normal limits. Differential count showed that lymphocytes were increased 9 days after vaccination, segments were conversely decreased. All vaccinated children showed a fall in platelet counts with a mean maximum fall of 69,000 and it was noted 12 days after vaccination. Warthin-Finkeldey giant cell on the nasal or buccal mucous membrane was not present in all vaccinated children.
