- Abstract
- A case of Kasabach-Merritt syndrome in a 2 month-old male infant was presented. The diagnosis was confirmed by physical, peripheral blood and biopsy findings. Slight improvement was observed within about 2 weeks of parenteral administration of prednisolone, 20 mg, daily, but after reduction to 15 mg of prednisolone per day, the hemangioma enlarged and the platelets count decreased below 30, 000/mm3 again. X-ray therapy in this case was successful with complete disappearance of the hemangioma and elevation of the platelets to normal level.
