Abstract
Occurance of cerumen types was studied in 1, 271 pure Koreans and 250 orphan children including mixed-blood. The frequency of wet cerumen in pure Korean was very low and only 4. 3%. The frequency of wet cerumen in 250 orphan children in which mixed-blooded children are included was 31. 2% and 80% in 85 definite mixed-blooded children. The frequency of wet cerumen was highest in Korean-Negro children and was 86.1% The frequency of cerumen types in Korean is compared with those in other races and a possibility of application of cerumen types as one of the useful markers for differentiating a mixed-blooded child from a pure Korean when other physical characteristics are not clear enough for differentiation is suggested.
