- Abstract
- A case of organic diabetes insipidus is presented.
The patient was 11 years old girl when she was first seen in this department, who had a past history of tuberculous meningitis.
Hickey-Harre test showed negative result, and pitressin positive. Serum sodium and chloride levels
were raised above normal. Chest X-ray showed calcified hilar lymphnodes. Skull X-ray revealed calcification
above sella turcica, which was compatible to healed tuberculous meningitis.
When she was seen 4 years later, her symptomes of diabetes insipidus, e.g.,polyuria and polydipsia
were found to have been disappeared spontaneously and the urine specific gravity was restored to normal range.
