Abstract
Sensitivity test and Serologic Testing on 264 strains of shigella isolated from Patients in Taegu area during the period from January of 1961, to June of 1968,were made and the results were as follow: 1)The most predominant group was Sh. flexneri (76~97%),and most of then belong to type 2 of Sh. flexneri. 2)About 30 to 50% of strains isolated during 1961 to 1965 were sensitine to commoly used antibioties (SM,CM, TM and AM), but decreased to 10 to 30% in the later year (1965~1968). About 40 to 70% of strains were sensitive to KM, EM in the year of 1961 to 1962 and it decreased. to about 10% in the later year (1965~1968). Only 6. 3 to 14. 6% of them were sensitrive to NM. In 1968, all strains were resistant moderately or highly to antibioties tested except for SM (37. 5% of sensitivity). 3)Most of the strains were resistant to four antibioties tested in the earlier year group(1961~1962), but most of them were resistant to 7 or 8 antibioties in the later year group(1965~1968)
